Birds Fall Dead From The Sky -- More Than 1000!

"Wildlife officials are trying to determine what caused more than 1,000 blackbirds to die and fall from the sky over an Arkansas town.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said Saturday that it began receiving reports about the dead birds about 11:30 p.m. the previous night. The birds fell over a 1-mile area of Beebe, and an aerial survey indicated that no other dead birds were found outside of that area."

Assuming they dropped dead from the sky is a bit of a jump. If it's a group, it could be that they were flying together and ran through something toxic released in the air or they followed their leader to the earth in the dark. Personally, I like the "Signs" explanation that they ran into a UFO that was cloaking.

Wildlife indicated they exhibited physical trauma - so something impacted them in some manner (hail, lightening, a mother ship, who knows?) I am interested to 1) see if there was any weather in that specific area at that specific time and 2) finding out what the necropies on these birds has to say.
