Illustrator Inherits Dark Whimsy

Without a doubt, Jesse E. Larson channels Edward Gorey by way of Tim Burton. Yet, instead of crafting pale imitations, his work stands as loving homages to these masters of macabre design. Check out his work here and at his blog, hauntednonsense.blogspot

Jesse's work is gorgeous, made all the better by the subjects he choses. He's also a lovely person!

Yes, I like his work. It incorporates Gorey's dark humor and vaguely Edwardian pen and ink look with Burton's Poe-inspired heroes, brilliant punches of color and twisted take on pop motifs.
