Snakes on a Plane!!

For Real! And I'm less concerned about the venom of sea creatures than I am wondering what has happened to the English language and the study of Latin (esp. as it relates to the plural)...

Can I rant for a moment?

It's OCTOPI, not octopuses. It's CACTI, not cactuses. I'm sure Webster's has made room for the numerous variations, since standard English to their staff seems to include: "Hey, y'all. Ain't u gonna b at the dizzle?" But I like to keep certain traditions alive. Call me old fashioned.
