For Real! And I'm less concerned about the venom of sea creatures than I am wondering what has happened to the English language and the study of Latin (esp. as it relates to the plural)...
It's OCTOPI, not octopuses. It's CACTI, not cactuses. I'm sure Webster's has made room for the numerous variations, since standard English to their staff seems to include: "Hey, y'all. Ain't u gonna b at the dizzle?" But I like to keep certain traditions alive. Call me old fashioned.
