In Strange State: Mysteries and Legends of Oklahoma, you can read about a creature that had the head of an alligator. According to legend, it terrorized Tahlequah in 1842. Now comes tell of a humanoid serpent skulking about Oklahoma's Delaware County:
“I turned around and right at the dip my four-wheeler immediately shuts off. I’m trying to pull-start it, and I started getting a little more freaked out because I heard some rustling off to the side. I look over and see a human-like shadow standing off to the side, but instead of being a normal human he had a snake-like head.”
The report comes from a fairly new blog entitled "OK? Awesome!" I look forward to seeing what other tales will come from this new site. The story also reminds me of an H. P. Lovecraft ghosted work involving a half-man/half-snake creature that was also set in Oklahoma. You will be able to read more about that story in the forthcoming work, Stranger State: More Mysteries and Legends of Oklahoma, due out later this spring.

Reptilian aliens most likely. They are apparently quite sly...
I'm surprised no one has posited that thought before
I, for one, blame the nargles.
