Why Science Will Never Take Them Seriously

In searching the website for The Atlantic Paranormal Society (aka, TAPS), I came across this article on "Demonology." In reading the authors cautionary laments, I was struck by the serious tone of the work. This guy actually believes there are demons (probably with horns) infesting the minds and souls of the hapless. I was surprised to find something that, at best, was psuedo-science and, at worst, was a sad example of ancient superstitions in the modern world. To most, TAPS would seem to be a somewhat rational group that employs the trappings of technology to address the unknown in a vaguely scientific manner. However, when they ally themselves with individuals such as this, TAPS waters down its own integrity and eschews any hope of logical investigation in favor of ouija boards and crystals.

If you don't laugh at his article, you'll probably get a chuckle from this one on the same site. I wonder to which demon I should pay that parking ticket....

At some point in their life, they will look back and wonder why the f#$k they wasted so much time chasing this garbage down. This is arrested adolescence. Priceless...

Arrested Adolescence! That is the most appropriate term I could imagine. I will have to remember that one.

Well the Catholic Church still believes enough in them... As for me I am always an open minded skeptic.

And it is often only the Catholic Church. While examples can be found for cases of Demon Possession outside the faith, they are rare anomalies. This lack ubiquity alone tends to support the conclusion that we are looking at a faith-based phenomena. And while the Catholic church now uses medical and psychological science to first address concerns of possession, mentally ill people in less sophisticated countries are still labeled as such from time to time. It's dangerous, in my opinion, and not something amateurs should go around messing with. I provide the same warning to investigators working with poltergeist cases.

I've had some really bad experiences with them. Many alone, other not alone. Were we all hallucinating then?
Only the ignorant closes their mind off to possibilities.
Inhuman entities are rare, ghosts are a dime a dozen.
Although yeah, it is somewhat adolescent to focus on just the same "evidence" gathering all the time.

I can't speak to that which I did not witness and to which I have only your word, so I cannot fairly answer your question.
